Releasing Forgiveness

“If the Son therefore has set free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36 There is bondage in unforgiveness, and without realizing it we can bind ourselves and others. My son, Bryan came to live with us when he was just four years old. He moved in hurt, confused, and angry. He had been wronged by so many people in his life, and he had no idea what to do with his anger. I see this in people that we serve in the office. They feel wronged by other health professionals. They feel that God should have healed them already, and sometimes they are angry at their own body for not healing. Whatever the case, anger builds where we have unforgiveness. At four Bryan did not know how to restrain his emotions, so he just raged at everyone around him. As adults we cover it, and we will often see signs of it that we label frustration, irritation, or annoyed. These small explosions of anger are really just signs that we feel someone owes us. Getting to the root of these small explosions can set you free! So, I have found three steps to freedom in this area. The first is to Recognize it, the second is to offer Forgiveness to the offender, and the third is to Release it to God. At the first sign of irritation or frustration with someone, stop and trace the feeling back to the real reason you feel this. Is it just because someone cut you off in traffic, or do you often feel disrespected by others? Then offer forgiveness to whomever committed the original sin against you. We were forgiven by God, so forgiveness is our gift to receive and give. Then comes the release! This is where you actively choose to release this to God! Only He can heal this root in your heart, and change you little by little as you let it go! This will bring healing to your body, and release a flood of forgiveness and love to yourself and others! Seek the root of the issue, and let God set you free! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕 P.S. If the person you are mad at is God, then tell Him all about it! Let Him have your anger by yelling at Him why you think you had a bad deal. Then let Him show you the path to freedom! He can take it, and set you free!

Update: Bryan is now 11, and he has forgiven the people in his past. He is taking steps daily to be set free!
