Overcoming A Bad Experience

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 I just got off the phone with my mother. She spent some time over the weekend with a dear family friend.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 I just got off the phone with my mother. She spent some time over the weekend with a dear family friend. Our families went to the same church, the same school, and we all lived in a very small town together. My mother was talking to her about pursuing Chiropractic, for the health challenges she is facing. Her response was to bring up her bad experience with a previous Chiropractor. There is fear here, and if someone I have known my whole life is having trouble getting past that, there must be so many others. God has healing even in this situation. He can heal her from her fear, her pain, and her past. We just need to step past our fear with His Power! One bad experience can hold us in bondage, but one experience filled with love can transform us! I don’t know if Chiropractic is her answer, only God knows. I do know that God may lead you to the place you fear to show you His healing and amazing love for you! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Pain Is Where The Symptom Is, Not Where The Problem Is!

A member called me this morning in crisis. She said that her hip or SI were killing her, and that the pain was so sharp that she could barely move. I asked her, “What happened to cause this?” She said, “I have no idea?” Then I asked her to tell me more about it. It travels up her back on the right side up into her neck. Bingo! I know this member, and I am familiar with her history. I told her that I had home school, and the teacher was coming. I would not be able to see her until this afternoon. However, Dr. Michael was going into the office, and could see her this morning! So, I prepped him on the situation, and I handed him a jar of celery juice to give her. My initial thought was that this was her liver referring pain, and that her lymph was congested on the right as a result. This was being drawn all the way up the right side to her neck. It is very common for us to think that the pain is where the problem is, but I rarely find that to be the case. More often the body is responding through its many connections to produce pain in the weakest area. I just sent her a text, and she said that she is already feeling better! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

God Guides

A member came in a few weeks ago, complaining of foot pain. He had started a new job at Walmart, and he was not used to standing on concrete floors. I performed an assessment, and in addition to being subluxated. He had inflammation throughout his body. I performed his adjustment, and began to chat with him about the source of his inflammation.

It was Christmas time, and he said that he had been consuming a bit more sugar. We spoke about some changes he could make, and he left feeling better. He called me the next week in increased pain, and I asked him about his inflammation. He had done a few things, so I spent some time explaining the physiological effects of inflammation. It must have hit him when we talked about this, because he came in two weeks later totally changed. His abdominal area was flat, his face, the back of his neck, his hands, and his legs were free of inflammation. I did an assessment, and found him to be subluxation free with no signs of the previous issue. He said the pain was not totally gone, but it was so much better that he could not believe it! Chiropractic is one source of God’s healing, and He has many others. The amazing thing to me is that as we listen to His voice, He will show us the path to healing. It may not come as we thought it would, and the path may be different than we chose. He alone knows what we need to do, to facilitate the healing that He designed for us to have! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Experiencing Is Believing

When I started Chiropractic 22 years ago, I was full of passion and excitement! I felt that I had found an answer to healing that would ignite hope in others.

When I started Chiropractic 22 years ago, I was full of passion and excitement! I felt that I had found an answer to healing that would ignite hope in others. Up until 1995, I thought Chiropractic was for a musculoskeletal problem. My parents had gone to a Chiropractor after a car accident. My father had gone after he fell off a roof, and they had received healing. I never thought that my debilitating menstrual pain could ever be helped through Chiropractic. I could not see the relation to my symptoms and the spine. Then I received my first Upper Cervical correction, and I knew that what I once believed was dead wrong! Upper Cervical is a form of Chiropractic that deals with the top two bones in your neck, called the atlas and axis. This is the portal for the connection between your brain and your body! Wow! The reason why this Upper Cervical correction changed my pain was because of this pathway between the brain and the spine. The brain is the control center of the body, and in order to respond to the demands, needs, and healing of the body, the control center must communicate efficiently, effectively, and without disconnection. The area of the atlas and axis is the most powerful area of the entire spine. These vertebrae are shaped unlike any vertebrae in the spine. Their unique position combined with their mobility leaves them vulnerable when we receive trauma. It was only when I experienced this correction, that my mind could believe that this was possible. I understood that experiencing is believing! I felt the difference of an Upper Cervical correction and it changed my life. Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Faith Over Fear

I was at church when a leader came up in stress, and I could see that her left shoulder was elevated. So, we immediately prayed for the situation that she was facing. Then I asked her to turn around, and I began working on her shoulder.

I was at church when a leader came up in stress, and I could see that her left shoulder was elevated. So, we immediately prayed for the situation that she was facing. Then I asked her to turn around, and I began working on her shoulder. She was surprised that it was so sore, and that it went from her head all the way down her arm. She said that she had no idea that all of that was hurting. She asked me how I knew it was sore? I asked her if she had ever seen a Chiropractor. She said, “Yes, once and he yanked my head around, and I did not like that!” I apologized that her first experience was a bad one. I told her that I was a Chiropractor. How many times has fear robbed you of something? Maybe it was the first time you rode a roller coaster? Maybe it was when your heart was broken? Maybe it was when you tried asparagus? Faith would beg us to step out even though there was fear! Fear puts us in a box, and the more fear we have the smaller the box becomes. When it is time, God will lead you out of fear with a step of Faith. He died to set us free, and in His timing He will heal the pain of our bad experience and work it for our good! My friend was surprised that I was a Chiropractor, but she never moved or was afraid as I worked on her. In the end she said that it felt so much better! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Thankful

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 A member came in for her visit, and she has been in the practice for almost a month. I commented on the change I had seen over the past month. She agreed that things were moving in the right direction.

After we finished our work, she stopped before she left the room. She said, “I am so thankful that I chose to come here! I am so glad that my daughter recommended it to me. I could have just gotten a shot to cover up this pain for a while, but that would not have fixed it. I can see how this is all working to help me be healthier than I have ever been! I have hope again! Thank you!” Hope is so powerful in healing! When it is lost, so is our will to fight. Having it restored gives us the momentum we need to push through! I once had no hope, and I felt that I was dying. Then someone gave me my first correction, and I found hope again! This has propelled my healing momentum for the last twenty-five years! Hold on to hope, and know that God will lead you to His perfect plan for your healing! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Why Do You Do What You Do?

Has anyone ever asked you, “So, what do you do for a living?” In my opinion, it’s far more telling to ask, “Why did you become a _______?”. The why tells you the story, and the what only tells you the occupation. The why helps you see the heart behind the person, while the what only leaves you with making judgments based on what you have heard or experienced.

For example, if you found out someone was a firefighter, most of us would automatically assume that this person is honorable, noble, and works to aid and assist the helpless. Yet, firefighters are people in a job doing a service, just like the rest of us. The why for each of them is probably varied, and some may be in it for the right reasons, and others may not be. To judge an entire profession by your past experience, or from what others have told you is prejudice. This shows more about you than it ever will about someone else. As a Chiropractor, I have been on the side of receiving this prejudice. My why, started long ago,. My sister and I picked up my parents from the airport. They had just returned from celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in Maine. We were hit by a car, head on, shortly after leaving the airport. My mom was consequently prescribed a heavy pain killer, because she had developed Trigeminal Neuralgia as a result. She would sit on the couch crying most days from the pain, and she became depressed. She decided to try Chiropractic, and she was able to get her life back and get off her medication. In a later accident, my dad fell through a roof and dislocated some ribs. He went to the doctor and was given muscle relaxers, and pain medication. He was unable to work or barely breathe due to the pain. So, he decided to try Chiropractic, and he was back at work the same day. These stories were part of my why, but my passion came when I had a chronic pain condition that prescription pain medication could no longer help. My husband decided to take me to try Chiropractic, and I experienced hope for the first time in years. I found an answer, a calling, and a passion that ignited within me to help those that had lost their hope. Today, I give the gift that I was once given, hope! That our bodies were made to heal themselves! My experiences for a time caused me to be prejudiced against medical care, but I realized long ago that I was giving the same judgement that I was receiving. I am now, no longer prejudiced against medication, doctors, or pharmacists. God can heal us through any method possible, and I trust in His leading and His healing! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

A Little Bit Of History

I was listening to a podcast about heavy metals, and they went over the history of our exposure to heavy metals. It was fascinating to hear about the history of mercury. Back in the 1800’s, mercury was touted as a cure for all sorts of conditions. Except for the fact that it literally drove people insane, and killed so many others.

This article goes over some of the history of mercury. https://www.thestar.com/news/insight/2017/10/22/mercury-was-considered-a-cure-until-it-killed-you.html It is from the book called, Quackery. I found that funny as I have been called everything from a witch doctor, a quack, a voodoo doctor, and more. Name calling in any profession is no different than being a bully on a playground. Quackery started with the treatment of mercury, and not in Chiropractic circles. It makes no difference, as the professionals of the day were people who were trying to help, but did harm instead. Doctors no matter the profession want to help others. Some may be misguided, some may miss the mark, and some of them may not be good people. I truly believe that they all really want to help people. That is why they went into their profession, no matter if they are MD, DC, DO, ND, PT, or anyone else. Since working as a Chiropractor, I have done presentations with MD’s, DO’s, PT’s, DC’s, ND’s, massage therapist, athletic trainers, OBGYN’s, and others. I did this in an effort to bring us together in our common goal to help others live healthier lives. I  have been met with open arms, judgement, curiosity, intrigue, and even ridicule. I have had doctors who have told their patient’s never to come and visit me, before they even knew what I did. They judged me based upon my degree, instead of the application of my technique or my care plan. I have called them out on it, sent letters to them, and tried to get them to return my phone calls. The bottom line is that we all encounter judgement in our lives, from people who don’t know us. It never feels right or feels good, but it happens. No matter what practitioner you go to, my hope is that you go where God leads you. That you are not led by your past beliefs, judgements of others, or even your past experiences. God can lead you to any practitioner to provide your healing. Step out of your comfort zone, and be willing to go against the grain! God has you, so step out in Faith! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Explaining Chiropractic

Can you explain Chiropractic? How does it work? Why does it work? Who is a good candidate for care? How long do you go? Is it good for kids? Why are we so confused when it comes to Chiropractic?

Can you explain Chiropractic? How does it work? Why does it work? Who is a good candidate for care? How long do you go? Is it good for kids? Why are we so confused when it comes to Chiropractic? People have been asking me these questions for years, and still the majority of people that I meet are unsure about Chiropractic. It’s no wonder we are confused, because Chiropractors do a variety of alternative health procedures. Some do modalities like ultrasound, electric stimulation, decompression, acupuncture, rehab, full spine adjustments, extremity adjustments, or upper cervical adjustments. What is the difference between all of these, and which one do you need? I suggest praying over which one to choose, as God alone knows what you need. Chiropractic is not like medicine, so it does not follow the one visit guideline. It is a program of care to remove subluxations in your spine. A subluxation is a vertebrae in the spine that is creating dysfunction in the body. Subluxations arise from all sorts of trauma. It can be a difficult birth process, a fall while learning to walk, a bike accident, a sports injury, a car accident, and all types of abuse. Emotional abuse, physical abuse, or chemical abuse (prolonged medication that suppresses our bodies ability to function normally). All of these traumas have the ability to create dysfunction in the body. We utilize specific analysis through x-rays to determine the angles that the vertebrae is subluxated, and then we go about correcting it! When the subluxation is removed, then the dysfunction associated with it will begin its healing process. The subluxation will return more frequently in the beginning of your care, but then as the body continues to heal the subluxation will return much less frequently. This will reduce your visits, and help you to remain healthy. We see people with a variety of health conditions from numbness and tingling, all types of headaches, colic, dizziness, low immune function, reflux, irritable bowel, allergies, seizures, shoulder issues, sleeping issues, anxiety, depression, disc bulges, previous spinal surgeries, and so much more. We do not offer cortisone shots, muscle relaxers, or any other medication. These do not correct the underlying problem, but they can create additional problems. Only God knows what type of care you need to heal! Listen to His leading, and always know he leads you in Peace not in fear. Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Nothing Can Separate Us!

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 There are many unknowns in our lives at this moment.

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 There are many unknowns in our lives at this moment. How will our world change, because of Covid? What will happen in our schools? What happens when another virus hits? Are we going to have to quarantine when every virus spreads? How will our businesses change as a result of this? Will there be mandatory vaccinations? How will our economy change? How will our healthcare model change? There are more questions than answers during this time. Solomon had lots of questions too, and the truth he discovered is the same truth to lead us through! We can't see the beginning from the end, only God can. We don't have all the answers to every question, but God does. We can't understand why this is happening, but God will work it for our good. No virus, no crisis, no challenge, no mountain, no valley, not even death can separate us from the Love of our God!! Amen! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-lvu54wBOU

Embracing Our Differences

I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! Psalms 11:1 Our world seems to be dividing over our philosophies of health. Instead of embracing the differences in our opinions, we are attacking them.

I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, "Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! Psalms 11:1 Our world seems to be dividing over our philosophies of health. Instead of embracing the differences in our opinions, we are attacking them. What makes us strong is our differences, and that is what freedom is all about! Let's celebrate what brings us together! Our love of freedom, faith, family, and all the things that this country has afforded us! The Lord is our protection and our strength! We have no need to run from anything that we face! He is with us, and this current virus cannot move us! God has given us the most incredible immune system for protection! He leads each one of us differently in how to repair it if it is damaged, and what to do to restore it. He may have you wearing a mask, or doing whatever to protect yourself. We respect His leading in your life! What I envision is that we embrace the differences in His leading, and love each other! That we acknowledge that we are all doing everything we can to walk through this. We have never walked through a pandemic before! I imagine us going forward with grace, mercy, love, and all the while seeking Him! Amen! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Security in Him

For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! Psalm 91:11-13 T

For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone. You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! Psalm 91:11-13 This promise comes with a stipulation. "If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter," then He will order His angels. In the time of the current pandemic, neither our home or our bank account are our refuge. We were watching the Survivor season finale last night, and the winner stated that with the state of how things are going (this pandemic), he could see that he needed to secure his family financially with his winnings. You can just look at Job's life to see that this is not where security is found. When our trust is only in what we see and can control, then we panic when circumstances happen outside of our control. When we anchor to the unseen, we have a hope that circumstances cannot shake! We trust in God to provide for us, heal us, and that He will send His angels to protect us! We trample on things that would normally kill us not because of who we are, but because of who we trust! We rely on a God who is unchanging, He is our source and our refuge no matter what we face! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Inside Out

Chiropractic is concerned with strengthening the body to suit the environment." Face masks are an outside in approach, meaning that we are trying to do something on the outside to protect our weak body. Chiropractic, has always been an inside out approach. We correct the subluxation to strengthen the body, we provide recommendations for foods to strengthen the body, and we suggest supplementation to strengthen the immune system.

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Romans 12:2 We had a member comment that we should be wearing face masks. I have thought about this long before we received this comment. BJ Palmer said, "While other professions are concerned with changing the environment to suit the weakened body, Chiropractic is concerned with strengthening the body to suit the environment." Face masks are an outside in approach, meaning that we are trying to do something on the outside to protect our weak body. Chiropractic, has always been an inside out approach. We correct the subluxation to strengthen the body, we provide recommendations for foods to strengthen the body, and we suggest supplementation to strengthen the immune system. The only effective way that I know to protect yourself daily from any virus is to strengthen your bodies defenses! This is different behavior based upon a different philosophy. This is our way of thinking, and it may not be yours. That is ok! We are not here to say that one way is right over another. As followers of Christ, we know that God leads all of us in different ways! Different is good, as long as we are following God's leading and not the world! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Don’t Fear, Stand in Faith

Fear traps us, quarantines us from others, and creates an internal stress that does not promote our healing. When we fear, we make bad decisions, and we reach out to anyone that we think sounds confident.

The fear of the Coronavirus is all around us, and so many business owners are taking extra precaution in an attempt to ease fear of their customers. One member told us that her daughter had been quarantined at her home for two weeks after telling her doctor that she had travelled the week before. This is not rare, as others are being quarantined when they reenter the US from travel. In our office this past week, members are laughing about the extreme overreaction to this virus. They are being drawn together in conversation, and whether they know it or not they are standing in Faith. Fear traps us, quarantines us from others, and creates an internal stress that does not promote our healing. When we fear, we make bad decisions, and we reach out to anyone that we think sounds confident. We do this in panic and desperation, and we can’t hear the voice of our Heavenly Father. Faith brings peace in the midst of the storm. It causes us to see the fear around us and laugh. We find joy in the journey, we connect to others, we are empowered, encouraged, and equipped to walk through this storm! So, stand in Faith in the midst of fear, and know that our God will lead us through this! He is our healer, our strength, and He is guiding and directing us! We are business owners who are continuing to do what we always do!  We stand in Faith, and we are finding joy in the journey! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕

Give your immune system an edge with Chiropractic, Fresh Fruit and Supplements

The corona virus has created a panic in our community. We went to Walmart today, and found that shelves were empty. Food was in short supply, which created concern all on its own. All of this can create worry and stress within our bodies increasing our sympathetic nervous system. This system releases adrenaline into our bodies, which decreases our digestive system, our sleep, and increases our spasticity, our blood pressure, our anger, our stress, and our heart rate. In order to protect our bodies from the cascade of effects that adrenaline causes, we need to find ways to boost our immune system.

God has given us a defense system that is highly complicated, and amazingly capable of fighting anything we face. There are so many ways to give our immune system the edge in winning the war against any virus!

In this blog, I will list many to help you keep you and your family protected during this time. The first is the Chiropractic adjustment, which releases the parasympathetic system, calms the sympathetic system, and eliminates the cascade of effects caused by adrenaline. Woo Hoo!! The foods that help fight any virus we will face is fruit! Every fruit on the planet possesses antiviral properties. Yes!! All vegetables help aid in boosting the body with minerals and nutrients it needs to win the battle. Supplements that are antiviral are lemon balm, B12, liquid zinc, and Ester C.

The articles below, support the nervous systems role in communicating and aiding the immune system. These systems are vitally connected, and Chiropractic’s focus is in removing any interference to the nervous system. This allows every system that is connected to it to be enhanced in its ability to function. The most important thing is that God is your healer, and He designed your body to heal and protect itself! Don’t let fear take over, stand in Faith believing in your body's ability to heal itself! Woo Hoo!! Love you💕
